**Cancelled for summer of 2020 Due to Covid-19**
I regret to inform you that Hays Hoop Camp has been cancelled for the summer of 2020. MCPS has determined that they will not be using their indoor or outdoor facilities for youth camps due to the Covid-19 virus.
This is really disappointing for me as I love running camps for the youth in our area and this will be the first summer since 1978 that our family has not run this basketball camp. I looked at multiple options, but feel that it is in the best interest and safety of all of the kids and families to not run a camp this year. Let's stay safe and plan on having camp together next summer!!
Hays Hoop Camp Application (will be updated when dates confirmed)
The Hays Hoop Camp is the longest running day camp in Western Montana. No experience is necessary to attend. Basic offensive skills and fundamentals are taught with a coach to participant ratio max of 14 to 1. The camp counselors are current coaches, former players, and current collegiate players.
This is for next year's 8th and 9th grade boys. This camp emphasizes offensive skills and incorporating them into game situations.
June 15-18 and June 22-25:
These two separate weeks are the traditional camp sessions for next year's 4th-8th graders. There is a morning and afternoon session for boys and girls depending on the week. During the week we have a heavy focus on basic offensive skills and fundamentals. We also incorporate two individual shooting competitions (free-throw and hot-shot).
July 6-9 (morning):
This camp is a combined boys and girls session for next year's 4th-8th graders.. We focus on offensive skills and fundamentals. During this week we do team competitions instead of individual competitions.
July 6-9 (afternoon):
This camp is for next year's 1st-3rd graders. During this session we will focus on introducing the fundamentals of basketball and having fun.
